The SSLC Platform held a webinar today presenting the findings from their new report titled: “LED Lighting Performance Analysis: Temporal Light Modulation, 2014-2025”. Dr. Carsten Dam-Hansen and Dr. Gillian Isoardi, the co-authors of the report, discussed how the Temporal Light Modulation (TLM) metrics (i.e., short-term flicker index (PstLM) and stroboscopic effect visibility measure (SVM)) for LED lighting products evolved between 2014 to 2025. Their assessment used supplier-reported product data from the European Product Registry for Energy Labelling (EPREL) database, including over 130,000 lighting products for PstLM and over 230,000 for SVM. The assessment also included laboratory measured product performance data for hundreds of LED lamps tested by the member governments of the SSLC Platform between 2017 and 2024. The findings from the report were presented twice (the webinars each had the same slides and information) – one scheduled primarily for the Australian / Asian time zones and one for the European / Americas time zones.
