LED Lighting Performance Analysis: Temporal Light Modulation, 2014-2025

Today the SSLC Platform is publishing a new report analysing Temporal Light Modulation metrics in LED lighting over the last decade.  The report is titled: “LED Lighting Performance Analysis: Temporal Light Modulation, 2014-2025” and was co-authored by Dr. Carsten Dam-Hansen and Dr. Gillian Isoardi. The report examines how Temporal Light Modulation (TLM) metrics (i.e., short-term flicker index (PstLM) and stroboscopic effect visibility measure (SVM)) for LED lighting products evolved between 2014 and 2025. The assessment uses supplier-reported product data from the European Product Registry for Energy Labelling (EPREL) database, including over 130,000 lighting products for PstLM and over 230,000 for SVM. The assessment also includes laboratory measured product performance data for hundreds of LED lamps tested by the member governments of the SSLC Platform between 2017 and 2024.

The SSLC Platform is also announcing today a webinar on Wednesday, 13 May where there co-authors will present the findings from this report. This webinar will be held twice (the webinars will each have the same slides and information) – one scheduled primarily for the Australian / Asian time zones and one for the European / American time zones.  There will be 15-20 minutes of Q&A after the presentation.  Please click on one of the registration links below to register for the webinar:
