An international seminar on certification, standards and requirements was held on 4 April 2019 at Le Meridien Hotel in Seoul, Korea. The Korean Institute of Lighting and ICT (KILT) and the SSL Annex worked together to organise this seminar which includes leading experts from both the SSL Annex and regional governments who gave presentations on key topics, including: (1) the current and future European lighting policy; (2) promotion and quality assurance of SSL products in USA and international efforts; (3) SSL Annex policy research: LED lifetime testing and flicker; and (4) certification & requirements for lighting products in Vietnam, Thailand and China.
“We are very pleased to have the opportunity to cooperate with KILT on convening this International Seminar,” said Signe Friis Christensen, chair of the SSL Annex’s Management Committee and representative from Denmark, one of the Annex’s member countries. “As policy makers looking at solid-state lighting, we want to try ensure that markets benefit from better quality, more energy-efficient lighting.”
