This week the IEA CERT committee approved 4E’s extension for a second term to 2019, endorsing the unanimous request from the 12 existing member countries.
The new international standard IEC/TS 60034-2-3 ed1.0 for testing converter-fed motors was published on 28 November 2013.

The Australian testing laboratory CalTest proposes a new measurement method for determination of efficiency of new technology motors and motor-drive systems using output/input measurements.
The latest Annex benchmarking report which is an international comparison of the energy performance of refrigerator-freezers and freezers is now available. This is an update of an Annex report published in 2010. It examines variations in the scope and stringency of national minimum performance levels and other policies and shows key differences in product performance between countries over the 1996-2011 period.

Following the recent publication of the full benchmarking reports for vending machines, standby power and retail display cabinets, the key policy observations from these reports have now been distilled into these two page summaries.
The IEA 4E Mapping and Benchmarking Annex runs Webinars (online seminars) to present the results and key conclusions for each product analysed to a wider audience. To date, there have been seven product analyses presented in this format and recordings of all of these webinars can be viewed at any time on this website.
