Annex: 4E

In January 2024, the IEA endorsed the work of 4E by extending its mandate for a further five-year period, as requested by the 15 Members. 

The 2022 Annual Report of the 4E TCP has been released in an online version now live on the website.  The Annual Report provides an overview of the activities and outputs of the TCP and its Annexes during 2022.

4E is pleased to announce the publication of an Evaluation Guidebook intended to assist impact evaluations of equipment energy efficiency standards and labelling (EES&L) programmes. It explains the methodologies that are proven to deliver robust and credible evaluations within five key steps.

Systems are described as the next frontier for energy efficiency policy, offering the potential to unlock huge energy savings in equipment-based energy-using systems. 
In this summary we highlight some of the key findings from 4E’s investigations over several years.
