New strategy for 2024-2029 approved by IEA

In January 2024, the IEA endorsed the work of 4E by extending its mandate for a further five-year period, as requested by the 15 Members.

During this period, 4E will continue to engage with member governments to accelerate their clean energy transition through improved and innovative energy efficiency and decarbonisation policies for products and systems.

In the new term, which starts in March 2024, there will a particular focus on Demand Flexibility (DF) for Appliances and Equipment and on Energy Using Systems, including lighting systems and controls.
