The objectives of this study were to gather and analyse publicly available data on energy use by data centres.  Information was available within building energy benchmarking schemes that published data.

The study:

• Examines what data (on individual data centres) is already publicly available and how this can be best collected, stored and presented (on a regular basis).
• Collects the (public) data from registries to provide a general overview of data centre energy data.
• Devises which data could be displayed on the EDNA website.
• Investigates any intellectual property issues.
• Collates / parses data for publishing on EDNA website.
• Suggests a process and timeframe for updating the data on a regular basis.
