EDNA is also collaborating with the 4E Solid State Lighting Annex to address the network standby energy associated with “smart lamps” (LED lamps connected to a communications network). A workshop was held in Korea in November 2014 to establish this collaboration.

EDNA has also published results of indicative testing of 11 models of Smart Lamps purchased in the USA in 2014. It is expected that this indicative testing program will expand to test lamps from other EDNA member countries.

The 4E SSL Annex has also published a comprehensive report examining the energy cost of smart lamps.
