The latest Annex benchmarking report which is an international comparison of the energy performance of refrigerator-freezers and freezers is now available. This is an update of an Annex report published in 2010.

This benchmarking report examines:

  • Variations in the scope and stringency of national minimum performance levels required for refrigerated appliances, and a summary of additional national policies seeking to promote refrigerated appliance efficiency;
  • Key differences in product performance between countries over the 1996-2011 period resulting from policies announced and implementation to date;
  • Areas of potential concern, including areas where additional or modified policy intervention may be desirable in the future to improve product energy performance;
  • The potential energy savings that are currently possible, and may be possible in the future if aggressive policy intervention is undertaken.
