4E Informal Session at the 2008 ACEE Summer Study

The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy has invited 4E to host an informal session at the 2008 ACEEE Summer Study.

The session takes place on Monday, August 18 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM. The session is led by Hans-Paul Siderius and holds the title, 4E: International Cooperation and Coordination on Efficient Electrical End-Use Equipment.

Session abstract:

You, Summer Study participant, are well aware that efficient appliances can greatly contribute to energy savings in the residential, commercial and industrial sector. It is also evident that, as electrical equipment is traded globally, international co-operation and coordination will be vital to ensure coherent, efficient action.

Therefore in March 2008 the IEA founded a new Implementing Agreement on Efficient Electrical End-use Equipment (4E). The aim of 4E is to provide a forum for countries and other stakeholders to share expertise and develop their understanding of end-use equipment and policies and facilitate coordination of international approaches in the area of efficient end-use equipment.

This session will provide you with information on this new Implementing Agreement. Moreover, and more important, we want to hear from you new policy developments in your state or country and discuss how 4E can help to ensure the uptake of efficient electrical end-use equipment worldwide.
