The 4E Motor Systems Annex held its start-up meeting on the 10th of June 2008 in Zurich, Switzerland. The main objectives of the 4E Motor Systems Annex are to promote harmonization of standards and to promote the use of high-efficiency electric motors in appliances. The participants from 8 countries and one international organization (physical presence and video conference) discussed the proposed tasks and decided on the procedure for the final program. The leaders of the 8 tasks were nominated and the follow up sequence of budgeting and financing was determined. The goal is to have the Motor Systems Annex officially decided by the 4E Executive Committee on its next meeting 23/24 October 2008 in Washington DC.
